NEW Intuit Practice Excellence Program helps Accounting Professionals Grow Their Business
Recently there was a great discussion in my Linkedin Group, Successful QuickBooks Consultants titled “What is the biggest frustration you have with growing your bookkeeping practice?” The discussion had a large amount of activity and comments from group members. Many accounting professionals, QuickBooks consultants, ProAdvisors, bookkeepers, tax professionals and more struggle with the same issues – Streamlining work to avoid the ups and downs of revenue during the year, marketing our practice, hiring and retaining the right staff, deciding which new technology to learn and promote to our clients, figuring out how to get control of our business instead of it running us, etc etc! Your clients request guidance from you on how to survive and to properly plan for the future. While you do a great job helping your clients with this, how many of you have reviewed your own practice, how you service your clients and how to grow revenue and profitability ? Read more

Batch Invoicing – New in QuickBooks 2011
Sometimes you may have an invoice that you need to send to multiple customers. Perhaps it is monthly bookkeeping or payroll clients. Perhaps you need to invoice hundreds of home owners for their dues, students for a dance class each month, or customers for weekly lawn service. There are numerous examples of when you may need to send an invoice to multiple customers. In the past, you could memorize the invoice, but you still had to enter, save and then memorize the invoice. That could be very time consuming when there are lots of invoices. Read more

QuickBooks 2011 – Billable COGS on Expenses Tab
There is a new feature in QuickBooks 2011 that many people have overlooked so far. In QuickBooks 2010 and prior years, if you wanted to post something to Cost of Goods Sold and mark it as billable to the customer or client, you had to use a two-sided item.
New Multi-Instance in QuickBooks 2011
The Multi-Instance feature will save you time and improve your efficiency by allowing you to have two instances of QuickBooks open at the same time. This means you can have two different company files open at once! Now when you are working in a QuickBooks file and need to open another file to check on something for a client, you can open the second file without closing the first. Perhaps you are working with two related companies; now you can actually copy and paste information from one file into the other since they are both open. Maybe the client data file is too large so you create a new data file. Now you can work in the new file but have the old file open to refer to as needed.
